I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself since I hope to be meeting all of you soon as your classes come through the computer lab. As the new computer lab (room 14) teacher, I hope to help both teachers and students really utilize the room to the fullest.
Please let all of your classes know that the lab will open at 7 am, and will be available during all lunches. Eventually, the lab will adjust its hours to allow for students to come after school as well.
If you would like to reserve a lab time, please shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to put you on the schedule, or let you know when similar times are available if the lab is already taken. Don’t forget to fill out the cooperative planning form and submit a copy of the lesson plans so I can familiarize myself with the material. Please schedule your times by Friday of each week for the week following. Late Friday, a schedule will be posted on the door for the next week and I will send reminders using the Outlook Calendar.
During times marked open, I’ll be available to help students (preferably in small groups) who may need extra help with computer tasks. I’m Special Education and Business Education certified and am highly qualified in Spec. Ed. math K-12 and have a background that would allow me to comfortably help students in pretty much all areas of writing including journalism.
I hope to be able to help many of your students as we continue through the school year. Please let me know if there is anything else you envision the lab being able to do. I’d love the input.
